What Team Building Can Do For Your Company
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Henry Ford
Here at Mac House we’ve taken an active approach to bonding, not only by doing in house activities but through field trips. We’re forgoing the water cooler talk and replacing it with aquarium talk instead; even better, heading to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for an end of the year treat for our team this past December.
What we’ve learned over the past several years, that can be beneficial to your business, your team, your workplace environment, is that team building doesn’t happen within the office; it happens out in the world on adventures where employees can interact with one another on a more personal level.

We invite you to document your team adventures, whether it be photos or videos, and share them with the world in a photo gallery or edited video. The final result will be a memoir of that day that everyone can look back on and for future employees to gain an idea of the culture your company offers.
So What Does Team Building Do?
Promotes Better Communication
Regardless of the type of industry your business is in, communication is valuable. Involving your employees in activities that require different forms of communication will equate into better communication amongst the workers.
The confines of an office often leave little to be inspired by. For the creative mind, inspiration is everywhere and stepping outside will invite it to tap into parts of their brain that don’t get used on a daily basis.
Advances Problem Solving
Introducing your team to situations where they must rationally and strategically think of solutions that aren’t business oriented will inspire team members to look at business problems from a different perspective.
Team building promotes unification amongst the workers resulting in breaking the barrier between boss and employee. Involving the whole company on an even playing field promotes an outlook of equality furthering trust with one another.
Creates A Culture
Every single person on a team has culture to contribute. Appreciating and inviting the team to participate in cultural activities outside of the office will translate to adopting practices into the company making for a much nicer place to work at.
What we’d hope for you to pull from these points is an understanding for how team building can unify your work place and how it can create a much more pleasurable environment to work in. There are hundreds of activities that you can treat your employees to:
- Head to the local arcade where everyone can bring their childhood gamer out
- Visit a local museum like the Exploratorium where everyone can be hands on with exhibits
- Travel out to the campground to spend a weekend in the solidarity of the forest
